Fundraising for Holly Trees

Who are the Holly Trees Fundraisers?

We are a group made up mainly of parents that aim to raise funds to benefit the whole school, provide value for money and a balance of provision for each curriculum area.

We meet on a regular basis to discuss ideas and organise fundraising events.

We have recently provided funds for the purchase of visualisers for the classrooms, an outdoor classroom, two digital projectors for the main school, outdoor furniture and small shed for the foundation stage classrooms, much needed classroom learning materials, children's cookery equipment, playground seating and contributions towards the school's tremendously successful awards in the annual Brentwood in Bloom competition, together with bird boxes and a bird cam. Click here to find out more about current and past projects.

Helen Roycroft is currently Deputy Chair and we are looking for a new Chair to continue the successful running of the fundraising team. Elections for the Chair post are held on a two yearly basis. The other elected roles are Deputy Chair (currently Helen Roycroft), Secretary (Penny Blakey) and Treasurer (Jacky Jenkins). Click here for further information on the Chair role.

Fundraising Events

Over the years, the fundraising team have organised a wide variety of events including Car Boot Sales, Pamper Evenings, Christmas and Summer Fayres, Disco's, Cake Sales and Non-School Uniform Days.

Some events are more profitable than others, but raising money is not always the sole objective of the fundraising team. Improving relationships and partnerships between parents and teachers and between home and school also plays a vital part in why we organise events.

Click here to find out what events are coming soon.

Would you like to become involved?

Everyone is welcome to our meetings, help out at our events and attend our events.

If you would like some more information or are keen to help with the work that we do in any capacity then please drop us an e-mail on hollytreespta@hotmail.co.uk or contact Helen Roycroft c/o the school office.

The more people who can get involved the better; we can only go forward with your support.

Next committee meeting - THURSDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER AT 9AM.

Members' comments......

"As a parent I wanted to help the school without committing to too much time, and be able to sneak a view of my kids in the classroom or the hall, so being a regular fundraiser achieved this - it's also great for making friends with other parents"

"I have made friends with parents who have children in different classes - great for them too when they first go in the big playground where there are familiar faces"

"I think the children enjoy the fact that their mum is involved. They like staying behind after school and being in the hall playing with the other children while we are setting up or clearing up after an event. I think it makes them proud that they are also involved, other than just attending school."

"Joining the fundraisers was probably one of the best things I have done at this school; not just for the fundraising and social side - it also brings you into contact with the teachers on another level which I believe makes school life a lot easier."
