Uniform

Our School Uniform

Holly Trees Primary School has a school uniform, of which we are very proud. It is important that your child wears the recommended styles and colours, so that they feel part of our school community.

Holly Trees Primary School Logo items (sweatshirts, cardigans and polo shirts) are available in person or online from our stockist Red Oak Roller.

We continually offer Pre-Loved Uniform Sales throughout the year run by our fundraisers .

General Uniform

· Black shoes (no boots, ankle boots or heeled shoes)

· White polo shirts (preferably with school logo)

· Burgundy sweatshirt, cardigan and/or fleece (preferably with school logo)

· Grey trousers, grey skirt or shorts. In the summer a burgundy/red & white gingham summer dress may be worn, but no playsuits please.

P.E. Kit

· Holly Trees coloured t-shirt with logo in their Owl Team colour (no alternatives please)

· Burgundy shorts or joggers (leggings are not permitted)

· If required, burgundy sweatshirt and/or fleece (preferably with school logo) (hoodies are not permitted)

There is a burgundy Holly Trees tracksuit available from Red Oak Roller if parents wish to purchase it. On the two days each week that they have P.E., children will arrive at school wearing their P.E. kit and keep it on all day. This will be their Owl Team t-shirt accompanied by either burgundy shorts (or burgundy joggers with a Holly Trees burgundy zip up fleece or sweatshirt. They will need to wear suitable trainers as well.

Unless clothing is our official uniform bearing the school logo, we ask that neither uniform or PE kit has any other logos on it (e.g. sports brands, gaming brands etc)

Coat

It is important that the children come prepared for the weather, as they will almost always have some time outside at break time, irrespective of the weather. Please ensure your child has a suitable school coat and/or waterproof.

School Bag

Children should have a Holly Trees rucksack - these are available in small and large sizes from Red Oak Roller.

Lunchbox/lunch bag

A sensible lunchbox, fit for purpose and with your child’s name clearly labelled on the outside of the lunchbox/bag. Please note, we do not permit children at Holly Trees to have branded items (such as clothing, bags and lunchboxes) for computer games that are rated outside of the primary age range. We believe that in allowing the children to have these items in school, we are assenting to children playing games that exceed their PEGI age guidance. Examples of this are ‘Fortnite’ and ‘The Sims’ both of which are rated as a PEGI 12.

Jewellery

Jewellery should not be worn at school. Wristwatches and pedometers are allowed but SMART watches are not. Earrings are not permitted at any time (this includes having them taped up).

If you plan on having your child's ears pierced, this will have to be done in the first week of the summer holidays to allow the required six weeks healing time so that they can be removed in September when school begins. Make up, including nail polish, is also not permitted in any circumstances.

Hair

Long hair (below chin length) should be tied back. Hair accessories should be minimal, plain and in school colours. Hair should be kept out of children’s eyes using headbands, clips and slides; again plain using school colours.

During term-time pupils are asked not to have fashion hairstyles which include: shaved, dyed or streaked hair, patterns, mohawks, lines and tramlines.  It has been noticed that some pupils are having ‘lines’ cut into their hair and these should be allowed to grow out/ be cut out for the return to school after the holidays.

Please ensure everything has your child's name clearly marked on it.
